The library held a Zoom program with Alyssa Maxwell. She is from Massachusetts, but lives in Florida. She has written twelve mysteries all set in the mansions in Newport, Rhode Island. The first book is Murder at the Breakers. They are set in the 1890s and must be read in order since the main character solves the first and all the following mysteries. They are all easy reads, good page turrners, and they have received excellent reviews.
The Hallmark Channel has turned her books into a TV series.
She said the books were inspired by her husband’s family whose Newport origins date back numerous generations.
