Cover of Vera Wong's Unsolicited Advice for Murderers by Jesse Q. Sutano

Vera Wong is a sixty-year-old woman who runs a failing tea shop. She’s also a Chinese mother whose millennial son won’t listen to her suggestions for him or answer her messages! She has her daily routine, though, and sticks to it just fine until one day she finds a dead body in her tea shop. Though the police aren’t convinced it’s murder, she is, so she takes it upon herself to investigate the obvious homicide. Along the way, she makes friends with four millennials/gen Z-ers that are her main suspects. This is a hilarious cozy mystery with found family that I enjoyed very much. Mysteries aren’t usually a genre that I read, so it was a pleasant surprise to love this book as much as I did! I highly recommend it to anyone, not just mystery readers!
