The Goodbye Cat by Hiro Arikawa

The Goodbye Cat is Hiro Arikawa’s follow-up to The Travelling Cat Chronicles. Similar to the latter, The Goodbye Cat follows cats and their humans through different circumstances in their lives. However, The Goodbye Cat is written in short stories, and most of them are not connected. The last two stories in this book are connected to The Travelling Cat Chronicles, so I suggest reading that before picking this up! In The Goodbye Cat, you will find stories narrated by cats, stories narrated by humans, stories that will devastate you, hopeful stories, and stories that will just make you smile. You’ll find stories about kittens and stories about elderly cats, and stories that span their lives. Each story is inherently different, and I recommend them all. This is a quick read, and it is sure to grab your attention, just like Hiro Arikawa’s previous work.
